Hardly any exporting company is unaffected by export control, particularly goods control. This applies especially to companies that manufacture dual-use goods, i.e. goods that can be used for both civilian and military purposes. The export of such goods is subject to authorization.
For SMEs without their own legal department, the complexity of goods control law can at times prove very problematic. While these companies usually have a person responsible for export control, they often turn to external lawyers for legal questions.
